240 gallon 8x2x2 tank, glass tops, stand, 500 dollars

Post by Win on Tue 18 Jan 2011, 5:31 am

i have a 8x2x2 240 gallon tank, with stand included, dual over flows, reef ready.

could use some TLC as its an old tank, but im moving, need to let it go and downsize for a while. getting out of freshwater and i cant afford a 240 reef so im just gonna sell it.

has some scratching on the glass(from turtles), formerly the big display tank from wet pets & critters in longview.

has improvised reinforcement bracing to prevent bowing.

no filtration, no lighting.

tank is drilled on the bottom with three one inch bulkheads and one 3/4 inch bulkhead.

will include approx 300lb of fine gravel.

keep in mind, its not perfect, its a fixer upper, altho it is currently filled with water, i just gave away all the fish in it, so you can set it back up.

$500 or best offer.

Are you building it out of wood? If so I'll come give you a hand. I built my own deck and my son's play fort slide swing thingy. I'm pretty darn handy with wood.

SHHHHHHH!!!!!

id really love it if you could post that pic again of my skimmate! it got deleted off bumps forum when they had their issues with their pictures if you recall. i thought i had a copy of it but i dont guess i do! it would make a great avatar Smile

and dont leme forget your bucket of paint next time i see you!

today i watched that triggerfish jump out of my tank by the way... lucky i was right there.

that thickass lil fish jumped thru a 1 inch gap between the light and that prism skimmer. i filled the gap with eggcrate after i put him back in the tank lol... couldnt believe it... thats two fish in a week that ive watched carpet surf!
