Reef Rescue Team

Post by J.Davis on Wed 03 Aug 2011, 5:42 am

I noticed on another forum a "Reef Rescue Team"... Basically it consisted of Members willing to help in emergency situations... Stand breaks, glass cracks, seals start leaking, ect.... As our membership grows, not everybody "Knows" everybody. I thought it would be good to add this to our "Fish" community. If you have the means to be able to help out a fellow ETAK member in crisis, add here what you have/ can do to help. "Crisis" being the key word. If you need to borrow a light... not really a Crisis. I think you get the picture. I'll start off:

I generally have several empty aquariums, totes, bucket and a Quarantine system I can loan out to fellow members. I also can donate whatever RO/DI water I may have on hand. Longview

Feel free to add to this post. Location will be important also.

I'm willing to help move things. I don't really have extra equipment, and I only keep about 5 gallons of RO at a time... lol. Like I said though, very willing to help move tanks, rocks ect in an emergency. :-)

Oh, if you haven't figured it out, matt_longview lives in longview. ;-)

I'll always help out anyway I can. I'm not much help in the way of labor because of my work schedule but I have lots of extra tanks, empty water jugs, equipment and stuff if anyone needs it.

Were I work, we have an industrial RO/DI system that can pump out all the pure water we'd need, in an emergency. It's monitored and filters are changed by our maintenance team on a scheduled basis. I can't use it all the time though, as we use it in our processing.

I also am willing to help out in any way I can. Not a lot of equipment to speak of but have room to house corals, RO/DI water, Chiller, Cycle filter media and supply plenty of aged "cycled" water, etc...................

In a crisis I would be willin to donate frags as well.

I have nothing to offer except my time and effort, so if someone needed a hand I would get there to help move, ferry etc.
I also may at the time have an empty tank which I would willingly loan.
