I have a Hydor Koralia 1,200 gph. I have a 55 gallon tank and didn't know if I need the same size or a different size.

Nah. You can have different sizes. The only consideration would be if you are using them to power a filter, like an undergravel or something. If you use em for that, they have to be on separate filters or be sized the same.
